Creating a New Project (Simple Settings)

Create a new project when starting up EDIUS.

To create a new project, you can either select a project preset or project template, or open an existing project as a template.

Creating a New Project Using Project Preset/Project Template

When EDIUS has started up, select a project preset or project template to create a new project.

  • To use a project template, the project template to be used must be prepared in the specified folder in advance.

    Saving as Project Template

1) Click [New Project] in the [Start Project] dialog box.

2) Enter a project name in [Project name] of [Project file].

3) Select [Use Preset/Template].

4) Select a project preset or project template.

  • The project templates displayed in [Project template] of [Use Preset/Template] are the files stored in the save destination specified by [Application] in [System Settings] → [Template File Folder] in [Project Preset].

5) Click [OK].

  • Click [Cancel] to return to the [Start Project] dialog box.

Creating a New Project Using Existing Project as Template

When EDIUS has started up, select an existing project as a template to create a new project.

In the same way as using a project template, all the information included in the specified project can be reused.

Project Template

1) Click [New Project] in the [Start Project] dialog box.

2) Enter a project name in [Project name] of [Project file].

3) Select [Use existing project as template].

4) Click [...], specify a project file, and click [OK].

5) Click [OK].

  • Click [Cancel] to return to the [Start Project] dialog box.

[Project name]

Click the input field to enter a project name.

[Folder]

Set the destination to save the project. To change the destination, click [...] and select a folder. Alternatively you can click the [...] list button and select a destination from the list of recent histories. A maximum of 10 histories are displayed.

Check [Create folder with project name] to create a folder with the project name in the destination folder.

[Use Preset/Template]

[Project Preset]

Display registered project presets in a list. Double-click the icon to open a new project file with the selected project preset setting.

[Project template]

Display project templates that can be used in a list. Double-click the icon to open a new project file using the selected project template.

Creating a New Project Using Project Preset/Project Template

[Customize]

This can be used only when a project preset is selected in [Use Preset/Template].

Check this item to change the detailed project preset settings (rendering format, and the number of tracks and so on) and create a new project file. The settings of the existing project preset will not be changed.

Creating a New Project (Detailed Settings)

If you use the restricted user profile, the detailed settings of a project preset cannot be changed.

Use an existing project as a project template and open a new project file.

Creating a New Project Using Existing Project as Template

[Description]

When [Use Preset/Template] is selected,the setting details of the project preset or project template are displayed.

When [Use existing project as template] is selected, the setting details of the specified project are displayed.
