“Codec type not supported” error appears when loading Blackmagic RAW clip
When I load Blackmagic RAW (.braw) clip, "Codec type not supported" error appears

EDIUS Blackmagic RAW support is implemented on BMD RAW v1.7 SDK. If your clip is notĀ  supported by v1.7, EDIUS will show ‘Codec type not supported’ error and loading the clip will be rejected.
You can confirm if your file is supported by v1.7SDK by using BMD RAW player v1.7:

Procedure:

  1. Visit Blackmagic web site then download and install Blackmagic RAW 1.7
  2. Run Blackmagic RAW player
  3. Confirm if the player accepts your file and plays correctly
The file can be played: Contact to tech support along with sample clip file
The file cannot be played: v1.7 might not support your file. Later version may support it
NOTE: You do NOT use later version of the player. Because, your file may be supported by later version of SDK. Using different version of the player makes no senseĀ
