Checking background render job status in EDIUS X
How I can check background render job status in EDIUS X?

In EDIUS application, there are below six type of render jobs. In EDIUS 9 or earlier, these are proceeded inside of EDIUS application.

Render job Usage Trigger operation
Timeline rendering Render loaded / overloaded area to
get real-time playback
Use [Render] menu
Clip rendering Render clip selected in the timeline Right-click on a clip then choose
[Render] menu
Bin file conversion To get intermediate clip In the Bin, right-click a clip then
choose Convert > File

Waveform cache
creation

To see audio waveform in the timeline Load a clip that doesn’t have .ewc2
file or refresh waveform data
EDIUS Proxy file
creation
Create EDIUS proxy file that is used
in proxy editing mode
Switch to Proxy mode via
Mode > Proxy Mode
Render selected timeline sequence Export the timeline to a file Run file export

From EDIUS X, these jobs are proceeded by background render service that separately works to EDIUS. Once you do “Trigger operation”, a render job will be queued to the background render service. The service will schedule the job and proceed automatically. You are not required clicking start button to proceed the job (the monitor UI doesn’t have the button)

You can see job status in [Job] tab or GV Job Monitor that can be started from Start > Grass Valley > GV Job Monitor
