Modify EDIUS Hub services port number

FAQ ID:000024930 | Date:2022/12/10

This knowledge base instructs how to modify the port numbers used by EDIUS Hub (EH) services

Overview

EDIUS X depends on the EDIUS Hub services, which are installed with EDIUS X. These services use TCP/IP to communicate with EDIUS X and each other. By default, port number 1224 – 1231 are used for this purpose. If there is a program or process that requests a random port, it may use a port inside the range and prevent the services from starting.
From EDIUS X 10.32, you can reserve the port range for EDIUS Hub services to prevent these ports from being used as random ports. You can also change the port range to another.

Prerequisite

Upgrade to 10.32.8648 or later build. Click here to get the latest build

Location of the tool
To reserve a port range, you can use EdiusHubPortConfig.exe, which is installed in “%PROGRAMFILES%\Grass Valley\EDIUS Hub\Tools\”. (PROGRAMFILES is an environment valuable and usually it indicates “C:\Program Files”, so the path will be “C:\Program Files\Grass Valley\EDIUS Hub\Tools”.)

Usage
You must launch the Command Prompt with administrator privileges, then run EdiusHubPortConfig.exe from the Command Prompt.

EdiusHubPortConfig.exe <command> [options]

Syntax:

Command Description

Make a note of changed port number
Make a note of changed port number if you configure server settings manually by using the registry (here is more details)

1) In the Hub server, navigate C:\ProgramData\Grass Valley\EDIUS HUB\Api Gateway

2) Open appsettings.json in the Notepad

3) Go to “Https” then note down the value (red surrounded part)

4) Use noted port number when modifying the registry

IMPORTANT NOTE:
If you didn’t change the port number, default number (1230) should be set to apply the registry
