Notes on upgrading to EDIUS 9
What points should I consider when upgrading to EDIUS 9 from an earlier version of EDIUS?

When upgrading to EDIUS 9 from previous versions of EDIUS, please consider the following:

1. System Requirements
EDIUS 9 only supports 64-bit Windows 7, 8.1 or 10 (version 1607 or later). If your OS is 32-bit Windows 7, 8 or Windows Vista, XP, you will need to upgrade to a supported OS. Also, EDIUS 9 requires more powerful specification of PC for smooth editing. Please confirm the system requirements before upgrading.

2. Supported video editing hardware

A Grass Valley Hardware
EDIUS 9 only supports HDSPARK, HDSPARK Pro, STORM Mobile, STORM Pro, STORM 3G and STORM 3G Elite. Other GV hardware is no longer supported.

Third-party Hardware
EDIUS 9 supports AJA, Blackmagic hardware. Matrox hardware support has been removed from EDIUS 9. See the PDF more details

3. Third-party Plugin Software
EDIUS 9 does not support the third-party plug-in software designed for previous versions of EDIUS. Please install the version designed for EDIUS 9.

4. Project file compatibility
EDIUS 9 is backwards-compatible with project files created with ‘-1’ earlier version of EDIUS. However, third-party filter effects or titles may not be imported. Dummy effects will be applied in these cases.

5. Upgrading from earlier version of EDIUS
If your EDIUS 9 is an upgrade version, you will be required to activate both EDIUS 9 and earlier version. Please do not deactivate earlier version’s license when uninstalling earlier version of EDIUS.

6. Internet connection
EDIUS Pro 9 requires internet connection for periodical eID (EDIUS ID) log in.
