If ASP.NET Core Runtime 6.0.16 is being installed, it may block correct working of EH services. As the result, you may encounter fails to start EDIUS X.

EDIUS (10.34.9923 or later) installs and uses ASP.NET Core Runtime 6.0.12. For workaround, follow below steps to downgrade the runtime.

1) From Apps & features, remove Microsoft ASP.NET Core 6.0.16 – Shared Framework (x64)

2) Remove below folders

– C:\Program Files\dotnet\shared\Microsoft.NETCore.App\6.0.16
– C:\Program Files\dotnet\shared\Microsoft.AspNetCore.App\6.0.16

3) Remove EDIUS without license deactivation

4) Restart the OS

5) Reinstall the EDIUS

IMPORTANT NOTE
Likely reason of installing the ASP.NET 6.0.16:

– The runtime is updated by Windows Update. Windows automatic update should be turned off to avoid upgrading to 6.0.16 (keep 6.0.12)
– Another app installed the runtime. In this case, installed application may not work correctly by downgrading the runtime
