How best to upgrade from older version of EDIUS?

1. Things to confirm before upgrade

Below things should be confirmed in advance:

a. System requirements
Newer version of EDIUS may require more higher PC specification. Ensure that your PC satisfies the system requirements.
  
b. Obsoleted function
Ensure whether there is obsoleted function that may affect your workflow. Grass Valley is unable to provide workaround for obsoleted functions.
 
c. Things to consider

2. License should be purchased

There are two upgrade type licenses. Applicable selection depends on your older version:

EDIUS Upgrade License: For upgrade from ‘-1’ older version 
EDIUS Jump Upgrade: For upgrade from ‘-2’ or more older version

IMPORTANT NOTE:
If any of the following applies to you, please purchase the standard license.

1. You want to use older version continuously in another PC.
2. Older version is Education license.

 

3. Steps to upgrade the EDIUS

Prerequisite

– Sign into the OS with administrator privileges.
– Uninstall third party plug-ins or hardware driver if installed.

Upgrade EDIUS
  
1) From Apps & features, remove below programs:

– EDIUS *
– GV License Manager
– Mync *
*  Ensure that ‘Deactivate the license’ is unticked

2) Restart the OS.
3) Install the hardware driver if you use tested third party hardware – see ‘Tested hardware with” knowledge base (Related Content) 
3) Run the newer version installer.
4) Activate the license – details here
